Renaissance

What sleeps in your safe?

Almost every family owns jewellery no one wears any more. The stone is wonderful, the story is precious. Only the setting belongs to another time.

Tresor und Schatulle mit Erbstücken
Some pieces have been waiting for decades
The idea

Pieces like these deserve a second life.

Renaissance is my answer: you show me the piece and tell me its story. If it takes hold of me, I design its second life. In my Munich atelier, with the craft my house has carried since 1837.

You tell. I listen.

The material remains
Stone, gold, pearls: what carries meaning is never replaced.
The story remains
Provenance and memory are part of the design, not its obstacle.
The form is made new
A setting for the next generation. Conceived for today, crafted for decades.
An example

One emerald, two lives.

The inherited emerald ring in its original state
Before · the inherited ring
The new design: the emerald in a contemporary setting
After · the chosen design

An emerald from family hands. The stone remained, the story remained. The form is of today.

The path

Three steps, no obligation.

I
You show me the piece
Two or three phone photos and a few lines about its story.
II
I reply personally
If your piece speaks to me, I answer with a private room full of designs, just for your family.
III
The piece comes to my atelier
We look at the original together. Only then does the work begin.
The invitation

Three photos are enough.

Until the end of August I have time for a handful of these designs.

Phone photos are perfectly fine. Daylight helps.
This photo could not be processed. A normal phone photo always works, or you can send it to me directly at sayhi@mxhm.de.
That didn't work, unfortunately. You can also reach me directly at sayhi@mxhm.de.
Thank you for your trust.

Your photos and your story have reached me. I look at every piece personally.

If it speaks to me, I will be in touch within two weeks.

Your photos and your story remain confidential. I do not buy your piece: it remains yours, in every case.

Valuation & sale

Selling instead of transforming? That works too.

I value your piece honestly and tell you what it is worth. If you wish, I place it for you with the right buyers, or on excellent terms with the right auction houses, from Munich via Geneva to New York. Discreet, at eye level, without sales pressure.

Simply mention it in your message and we will talk about it first.

Rather in person?

Some stories are better told over a coffee.

If you would rather bring the piece than photograph it, you are most welcome.
